DEAR MARDI GRAS REGION MEMBERS:

OUR JUNE 2012 MEETING WILL BE HELD THE LAST WEEK OF MAY, BEGINNING AT 11 AM ON SUNDAY, MAY 27, 2012 AT NOLA MOTORSPORTS PARK. 11075 NICOLLE BOULEVARD, AVONDALE, LA. ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR THAT DATE ARE A DRIFITING EXHIBITION (NOON TO 6 PM), A STUNT SHOW (NOON), BIKE TRACK DAY, A FORMULA 1 VIEWING (10 AM) AND RACE CARTS ON THE BIG TRACK.

OF COURSE, THIS IS ALSO THE INAUGURAL MARDI GRAS REGION GO KART CHALLENGE ON NOLA MSP'S OWN KART TRACK. PLAN TO HAVE LUNCH IN THE AIR-CONDITIONED RESTAURANT ATOP THE KART CLUBHOUSE AND THEN SEE IF YOU CAN BREAK A LAP TIME OF 35 SECONDS AS WE HAVE A MGR FIELD OF KART DRIVERS. BTW, THE KART TRACK RECORD IS 28 SECONDS, AND YOURS TRULY DID IT IN 33+ HIS FIRST TIME OUT. LOL, IF YOU DON'T WEIGH 210 LBS LIKE ME, YOUR KART POWER-TO-WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE MUCH BETTER AND SO WILL YOUR LAP TIMES.

OUR JULY 2012 MEETING WILL BE ON JULY 14, 2012, LOCATION TBD, BUT PROBABLY ON THE NORTH SHORE. WE WILL ELECT NEW OFFICERS FOR THE 2012-13 YEAR AT THIS MEETING, SO IF YOU WANT TO STEP UP THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.

OUR AUGUST 2012 MEETING WILL BE AT HOPE LODGE ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2012 BEGINNING AT 4:30 PM WHEN WE TAKE THE CHILD CANCER PATIENTS FOR RIDES IN OUR PORSCHES. AFTERWARD, THERE WILL BE KARAOKE AND PIZZA AND A BRIEF MEETING TO RECOGNIZE THE NEW 2012-13 MGR OFFICERS.
