The Grand October Event

Hey Members, Get ready for our annual Grand Gala Event in the French Quarter this October!

Friday, October 15

This year's event begins on Friday October 15 at noon. You'll be given a chance to "run your car" on our Poker Run to some local Plantation homes and gather your thoughts together. Later on, we'll have a party on the balcony of New Orleans Original Daiquiris from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am. We'll have beads for you to throw, appetizers, and you'll have the best seat in the quarter for your viewing. This event is sponsored by NOLA Sport (see below) and comes at no charge to you. Afterwards, you be able to wander the quarter and give advice to the sober you encounter.

Saturday, October 16

On Saturday, at about noon, we are making arrangements to display our cars on Historic St. Peter's Street in Jackson Square and hopefully, have local clergy come and bless our cars. Afterwards, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, the grand event! Dinner at Galatoire's, perhaps the finest restaurant in the quarter. We have a delectable menu of choice Louisiana Cuisine for your palate. Again afterwards, you'll be free to wander the quarter and be on your own, or to be with new-made friends. Mayor Landrieu and his wife Cheryl have been invited as our guests.

Cool Weather

The weather will be cool, the oysters will be in harvest and the World Champion New Orleans Saints will be out of town fighting the Tampa Bay Bucs.

"Life itself is a race, marked by a start, and a finish. It is what we learn during the race, and how we apply it, that determines whether our participation has had particular value. If we learn from each success, and each failure, and improve ourselves through this process, then, at the end, we will have fulfilled our potential and performed well."
